“Pictures” Rain thought… “Pictures everywhere, of a love gone sour.”

She gathered every last picture, and built a small fire in the backyard…

One by one she dropped the pictures into the fire and watched them melt, as did her pain.

A hug from behind. “What are you doing my love?” She shows him the next picture.

“Burning pictures of my ex.”

“But that’s me, Rain.”

The last picture turned to ash.

“Exactly.”

  1. She seems pretty cool about it, with no emotion when she has to confront her ex. I’d have been terrified about the likely reaction. Is she, perhaps, the one whose actions led to the break-up? A good story for making me think.
